Singer, actress and civil rights activist Lena Horne died yesterday at the age of 92. Lena Horne was the FIRST African-American performer to be under contract by a major studio. Although she starred in many films and Broadway, she was mostly known for her singing. I always thought she was such a pretty lady and I loved her on the Cosby Show. As a civil rights activist, she worked with former first lady Elenor Roosevelt to pass anti-lynching laws.
