Sprite Reneges On Zeta Tau Alpha's Victory
I did a post a couple of days ago about the all white sorority (Zeta Tau Alpha) that shut down the 2010 Sprite Step Off. Shortly after, I posted a video showing how disrespectful and ignorant some of the people in the crowd were when they BOO'D a clearly deserving group once they were announced as the winners. Well, people made such a big deal about it that Sprite decided to look further into the scores, check out the statement they released.
The Sprite Step Off was initially created as a way to recognize talented college students and give out scholarships to help support their higher education. If we put on some entertaining step shows and brought people together along the way, all the better.
After the National Finals Competition this past weekend in Atlanta wrapped, we got together to do our post-competition review and found a scoring discrepancy in the sorority results. After looking at it and looking at it AGAIN, we determined there isn’t a definitive resolution.
Sprite is all about preserving the honesty and integrity of this competition. Because the scoring discrepancy can’t be resolved and due to the really tight margin between the first and second place sorors, we feel that the only right thing to do is to name both Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Tau Chapter & Zeta Tau Alpha, Epsilon Chapter, co-first place winners of the Sprite Step Off.
With these revised results, we’re gonna increase Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Tau Chapter’s scholarship prize to $100K, consistent with what Zeta Tau Alpha also got for their first prize winnings.
Thanks again to everyone who helped make The Sprite Step Off happen. And to one last stroll in the name of unity…

I was over at YKYDAW and saw this video of a young girl winning a Kid Reporter spot on the Today's Show. I was so excited for the baby and then when I saw that she was from MEMPHIS, I had to post it. 2010 Sprite Step Off In Atlanta
I heard a couple of people talking about the all white sorority Zeta Tau Alpha that shut the 2010 Sprite Step Off DOWN, and of course I had to check it out. Take a look.
Yes ma'am, they did the damn thing. They won first place, in a mostly black city AND competition, and they definitely deserved it. Check out this video of the crowd actually booing them when they won.
I'm trying to figure out WHY everybody was so damn mad that they won?! So because its a step show, a black sorority/fraternity is automatically supposed to win? Po Divine 9, LOL!! Maybe next year!!
UPDATE: One of my readers asked me to post a video of the 2nd place winners. The AKA's from Indiana University took home $50,000 for their 2nd place victory. Out of all the performances I saw, they were the next best thing to the Zeta's.
I didnt post all of the performances because I couldnt find good quality videos from all of the Divine 9 and I didnt want anybody feeling left out. If you would like to see a specific group let me know and I'll find it for ya ;-).

Daddy Diddy Loves The Kids
Personally, I've been waiting on this from Diddy for a while. He FINALLY publicly acknowledged his gorgeous first born daughter Chance. Diddy posted a pic of Chance and her mother Sarah last night on Twitter. Check it out!
The Twitpic caption read "Like mother, like daughter... God is GREAT". I love it, and I love Diddy even more now ;-). I've heard that he's always taken care of Chance financially and does spend time with her, but my issue was that he never spoke of Chance like he does the twins. Looks like that might all be in the past now, I sure hope so.
Anywho, Diddy's oldest son celebrated his 16th birthday a short while ago (I posted pics from the event). Justin's "Super Sweet 16" episode recently aired on MTV and you already know it was sickening LOL. Check it out.

Tiger Woods Is Sorry In 2010
Tiger Woods issued an official apology today, check it out!!
He should've had Ruben Studdard to do a special remix for him called "Sorry 2010" cuz that's what this sh*t sounds like LOL. I will never understand why he felt it was necessary to apologize to the public. Elin is the only person that deserves to hear this. I'm sure he's apologized to her a million times since she tapped that azz (stop lying)and she wasnt even there,SMH. Tiger is an athlete, he is not a minister so why should be forced (cuz I know somebody made him) to apologize to us. In his speech he stated that he "disappointed us", he didn't disappoint me, what about you? He's human and he made a mistake, just like EVERYBODY ELSE!! True, it was some BS but that has nothing to do with any of us, that's between him, Elin, their family and those 52 women he gave the whole in one LMAO. Kevin Hart Pulls A Don Imus... Calls Dark Skinned Women "Broke A$$ Dark H*es"
Comedian Kevin Hart (pictured above with his wife) decided to take to Twitter yesterday to tell "jokes" about one of the biggest issues in the African American Community. He thought it would be funny to compare dark skinned and light skinned women. Check this BS out.
Honestly, I think he was joking, he's married to a dark skinned woman AND he’s black as midnight his damn self. However, the sh*t was NOT funny and rather Kevin realizes it or not this IS a very sensitive subject in the African American community and has been since back in the days of slavery. Although some individuals might say that it’s not an issue, it CLEARLY is! If I had a nickel for all the times I've heard "you're so cute, FOR A DARK SKINNED GIRL", I could probably pay off my student loans LOL. I actually had a debate on my Facebook page about this that led to a discussion about how this affects people and dating. True, everyone has their preference of who they want to date, but when that PREFERENCE turns into prejudice, THATS when I have a problem.
Like the whole "cute for a dark girl" statement, WTF DOES THAT MEAN? It's as if the person is implying that since I'm dark skinned, I'm supposed to be something OTHER than cute. That sh*t urks me. Have you ever seen how people flock to lighter complected children? EVEN if they are not cute, the FIRST thing out of some peoples mouth is "oh, he/she is so cute!" Noooooooo, what some people really mean is, he/she is so light skinned. A lighter complexion does NOT make a mf cute (that goes for grown people and kids). I was watching Tyra the other day and one of the young girls was talking about how she wished she were lighter so people wouldn't pick on her. That no doubt, comes from her seeing how society treats people based on their skin tone. I don't understand why it has to be such an issue because MY PEOPLE are THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE on the planet and "everybody wants to be like us" (in my Alicia Keys voice LOL)! We have to get our youth out of that "color struck" mentality and teach our children that they are beautiful no matter what shade GOD chose to make them, we ALL are!
Side Note: I'm mad Kevin decided to say this ignant mess during Black History Month. He couldn't wait until next month to tell this whack azz joke? SMH.

Papa Knowles Order To Pay Child Support
I'm sure everybody has heard about Beyonce's dad, Matthew being involved in a paternity suit. Well, according to TMZ, a judge in L.A. has ordered Matthew to pay child support for the child until a paternity test is done on March 1st. Sounds to me like Matthew already knows he's the pappy and wants to gone and start doing what he knows is coming anyways. The mother of the child Alexsandra Wright, claims that she and Matthew were together for 18 months resulting in the birth of her son, Nixon who was born on February 4th. Matthew has already shelled out $20,750 for the month of January AND 10,000 for uninsured medical costs. So you mean to tell me Matthew Knowles is getting it in with a mofo that doesn't even have health insurance? He needs his azz whooped LOL. Oh well, we'll see how this turns out. I'm already sold on the fact that he's the daddy because he has yet to deny being with the woman AND if I knew it wasn't mine, I wouldn't pay that heffa SH*T!!! To be dishing out this kinda dough, I'm figuring he knows what the DNA test is gonna say!!

I'd first like to wish EVERYBODY a Happy Valentine's Day. I hope you woke up with someone you love, rather it be someone else or simply yourself. I thought that I'd have a little fun with a Top 10 Countdown of my favorite celebrity couples, so here ya go!!!
#10 Mickey "Memphitz" Wright & Toya Carter
The two have been dating for a while (I’ve known about them for almost a year) but just recently decided to come public with their relationship. I happen to know that the two are extremely smittened with each other and I think they’ll be around for more of my couple countdowns. I guess we’ll see.
#9 Lamar Odom & Khloe Kardashian-OdomAlthough these two beat out some of the older couples on my list down the aisle, they are in fact the newest couple here. Khloe and Lamar started dating in August on 2009 and were married only a month later, on September 27, 2009. I like Khloe and I believe she’s kinda forced me to like Lamar also LOL. Everyone has had doubts about their relationship (including myself once upon a time), but I’m starting to thing they might really, really have something. I hope so because I love to see true love prove all the naysayers WRONG!!
#8 Seal & Heidi KlumHoney, Heidi LOVESSSSSSSSSS this one right here LOL. Although Seal doesn’t just tickle my fancy, they seem to be a lovely couple. They met in a hotel lobby in NYC in 2003; by December of 2004 they were engaged. Seal popped the question at the top of a 14,000 ft. high natural glacier in the Canadians Rockies. How could a girl say no to that? LOL. The couple was married on May 10, 2005 and now have 4 children together (1 is Heidi’s from a previous relationship).
#7 Clifford "TIP" Harris & Tameka "Tiny" CottleThese two here have been dating since 1998, seems like forever! In the beginning they were a real on again, off again couple but they have held each other down no matter what. They’ve been through the stillborn death of a daughter and even being arrested together, both of those things could destroy a relationship but not theirs, it only made them stronger. They were engaged a couple of years ago and plan to wed as soon as Tip finishes with all of his jail/halfway house time. I love how no matter what people say about Tips chic, he loves her regardless and always takes care of home. The couple has 2 sons together and both have children from previous relationships.

I LOVE this couple y’all! Keshia, formerly of the singing trio Total, has always been such a pretty chic to me and when I saw that they were together I immediately feel in love with them. They just make the cutest couple, Omar with his sexy chocolate azz and Keshia seems to really love her man. I’ve seen her on MySpace on several occasions speaking on how happy she is and how much she loves Omar. Gotta love it! The couple was married in 2006 and has 3 children (1 is Omar’s from a previous relationship).

#5 Djimon Hounsou & Kimora Lee Simmons
These two met in February of 2007 and they hit it off from the jump. At first Kimora thought Djimon was “deeply compelling and utterly sweet.” I can believe it cuz you know what they say, “the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice.” Kimora says that on their first date, she asked Djimon all the things you DON’T ask on a first date LOL. Their love for one another was obviously overwhelming because they didn’t even wait until Kimora’s divorce to Russell Simmons was final before they tied the knot and NO she isn’t into bigotry. Last year, Kimora and Djimon had a wedding ceremony in Africa (where Djimon was born) for what they call a “nontraditional marriage.” They both seem to be very happy with one another and the couple welcomed a son, Kenzo on May 30, 2009. I wonder if they’ll ever do the whole “traditional marriage” thing here in the States. Personally, I don’t care if they do or they don’t.. what they did in Africa is plenty good for me (not that I matter LOL, #imjustsaying).

Of course y’all knew these two made my count down. They’ve been dating since 2002 (or around that time) and they are STILL very secretive about their relationship. They got married on the roof of Jay’s penthouse in NYC on April 4, 2008. They were just voted number 1 on Forbes 2010 “Hollywood Top-Earning Couples” list. Together they raked in $122 MILLION between June of 08 and June 09. Hot damn!! Although I’m slick nosey and would like to hear more about their relationship, I can fully appreciate the fact that they choose to keep their sh*t private. They have enough people in their business as it is.

Okay, if my top 2 couples didn’t exist Rocko and Monica would SOOOOOOOOO be my number one couple! Monica and Rocko have been together for a good lil minute now. They were dating prior to 2000, reconnected in that year and have been an item since then. The two are engaged and have two of the cutest little boys ever; Rocko also has a son from a previous relationship. I’ve always loved Monica’s music and I admire the way she takes care of her children. However, I didn’t know much about Rocko other than his “Umma Do Me” song. Last year Rocko came to a club in my hometown (Memphis, TN.) and partied in a booth right in front of me in VIP. Y’all should have SEEN those groupies all at him, DUDE NEVER LOOKED THEIR WAY! I LOVED IT!!! He was just there to enjoy himself cuz he knows all too well what he has at home. A beautiful, down azz , talented, aint taking no sh*t hood chic (yes Monica, we know you’re hood LOL). She’s also a great mother and to find all those things all rolled up into one aint easy, that’s why he wasn’t paying those chickens ANY attention. Aight, I’ll get off their jock now LOL.
#2 Will Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith
Will and Jada met in 1995 after Jada auditioned for the role of Will’s girlfriend on his show “Fresh Prince of Belair.” Jada didn’t get the part on the show, but she eventually gained the role of “wifey” in Will’s life. Will stated that Jada didn’t think he was funny in the beginning of their relationship and that it took 2 years for her to even laugh at one of his jokes LOL. Jada now thinks her husband is hilarious! They dated for two years and were married on December 31, 1997 at a secret wedding. People always talk about Will and Jada’s “open marriage” but of course, nobody really knows what’s going on. They seem like a beautiful couple to me and I enjoy seeing them together. Plus, they are such a business savvy combo, they are already turning their kids into little money makers. The couple has two children together and Will has a son from a previous marriage.

If y’all frequent this blog, you should’ve already known who I chose as my number 1 couple. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are THE MOST LOVELY COUPLE EVER! I love seeing the two of them together, especially during those times that they aren’t really aware that cameras are rolling. You can just see the love between the two of them. They met in 1989 when Michelle was working at a law firm in Chicago. She was assigned to advice a summer associate that would not only turn out to be her husband, but also the first black President of The United States. They wed in 1992 and now have two daughters, Malia and Sasha. I love me some Barack but y’all know that beside every great man there is an even greater woman, and Michelle is all of that and more.
