Valentine's Day - Celebrity Couple Countdown

I'd first like to wish EVERYBODY a Happy Valentine's Day. I hope you woke up with someone you love, rather it be someone else or simply yourself. I thought that I'd have a little fun with a Top 10 Countdown of my favorite celebrity couples, so here ya go!!!

#10 Mickey "Memphitz" Wright & Toya Carter

The two have been dating for a while (I’ve known about them for almost a year) but just recently decided to come public with their relationship. I happen to know that the two are extremely smittened with each other and I think they’ll be around for more of my couple countdowns. I guess we’ll see.

#9 Lamar Odom & Khloe Kardashian-Odom

Although these two beat out some of the older couples on my list down the aisle, they are in fact the newest couple here. Khloe and Lamar started dating in August on 2009 and were married only a month later, on September 27, 2009. I like Khloe and I believe she’s kinda forced me to like Lamar also LOL. Everyone has had doubts about their relationship (including myself once upon a time), but I’m starting to thing they might really, really have something. I hope so because I love to see true love prove all the naysayers WRONG!!

#8 Seal & Heidi Klum

Honey, Heidi LOVESSSSSSSSSS this one right here LOL. Although Seal doesn’t just tickle my fancy, they seem to be a lovely couple. They met in a hotel lobby in NYC in 2003; by December of 2004 they were engaged. Seal popped the question at the top of a 14,000 ft. high natural glacier in the Canadians Rockies. How could a girl say no to that? LOL. The couple was married on May 10, 2005 and now have 4 children together (1 is Heidi’s from a previous relationship).

#7 Clifford "TIP" Harris & Tameka "Tiny" Cottle

These two here have been dating since 1998, seems like forever! In the beginning they were a real on again, off again couple but they have held each other down no matter what. They’ve been through the stillborn death of a daughter and even being arrested together, both of those things could destroy a relationship but not theirs, it only made them stronger. They were engaged a couple of years ago and plan to wed as soon as Tip finishes with all of his jail/halfway house time. I love how no matter what people say about Tips chic, he loves her regardless and always takes care of home. The couple has 2 sons together and both have children from previous relationships.

#6 Omar & Keisha Epps

I LOVE this couple y’all! Keshia, formerly of the singing trio Total, has always been such a pretty chic to me and when I saw that they were together I immediately feel in love with them. They just make the cutest couple, Omar with his sexy chocolate azz and Keshia seems to really love her man. I’ve seen her on MySpace on several occasions speaking on how happy she is and how much she loves Omar. Gotta love it! The couple was married in 2006 and has 3 children (1 is Omar’s from a previous relationship).

#5 Djimon Hounsou & Kimora Lee Simmons

These two met in February of 2007 and they hit it off from the jump. At first Kimora thought Djimon was “deeply compelling and utterly sweet.” I can believe it cuz you know what they say, “the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice.” Kimora says that on their first date, she asked Djimon all the things you DON’T ask on a first date LOL. Their love for one another was obviously overwhelming because they didn’t even wait until Kimora’s divorce to Russell Simmons was final before they tied the knot and NO she isn’t into bigotry. Last year, Kimora and Djimon had a wedding ceremony in Africa (where Djimon was born) for what they call a “nontraditional marriage.” They both seem to be very happy with one another and the couple welcomed a son, Kenzo on May 30, 2009. I wonder if they’ll ever do the whole “traditional marriage” thing here in the States. Personally, I don’t care if they do or they don’t.. what they did in Africa is plenty good for me (not that I matter LOL, #imjustsaying).

#4 Shawn "JayZ" Carter & Beyonce' Knowles-Carter

Of course y’all knew these two made my count down. They’ve been dating since 2002 (or around that time) and they are STILL very secretive about their relationship. They got married on the roof of Jay’s penthouse in NYC on April 4, 2008. They were just voted number 1 on Forbes 2010 “Hollywood Top-Earning Couples” list. Together they raked in $122 MILLION between June of 08 and June 09. Hot damn!! Although I’m slick nosey and would like to hear more about their relationship, I can fully appreciate the fact that they choose to keep their sh*t private. They have enough people in their business as it is.

#3 Rocko & Monica

Okay, if my top 2 couples didn’t exist Rocko and Monica would SOOOOOOOOO be my number one couple! Monica and Rocko have been together for a good lil minute now. They were dating prior to 2000, reconnected in that year and have been an item since then. The two are engaged and have two of the cutest little boys ever; Rocko also has a son from a previous relationship. I’ve always loved Monica’s music and I admire the way she takes care of her children. However, I didn’t know much about Rocko other than his “Umma Do Me” song. Last year Rocko came to a club in my hometown (Memphis, TN.) and partied in a booth right in front of me in VIP. Y’all should have SEEN those groupies all at him, DUDE NEVER LOOKED THEIR WAY! I LOVED IT!!! He was just there to enjoy himself cuz he knows all too well what he has at home. A beautiful, down azz , talented, aint taking no sh*t hood chic (yes Monica, we know you’re hood LOL). She’s also a great mother and to find all those things all rolled up into one aint easy, that’s why he wasn’t paying those chickens ANY attention. Aight, I’ll get off their jock now LOL.

#2 Will Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith

Will and Jada met in 1995 after Jada auditioned for the role of Will’s girlfriend on his show “Fresh Prince of Belair.” Jada didn’t get the part on the show, but she eventually gained the role of “wifey” in Will’s life. Will stated that Jada didn’t think he was funny in the beginning of their relationship and that it took 2 years for her to even laugh at one of his jokes LOL. Jada now thinks her husband is hilarious! They dated for two years and were married on December 31, 1997 at a secret wedding. People always talk about Will and Jada’s “open marriage” but of course, nobody really knows what’s going on. They seem like a beautiful couple to me and I enjoy seeing them together. Plus, they are such a business savvy combo, they are already turning their kids into little money makers. The couple has two children together and Will has a son from a previous marriage.

#1 President Barack & First Lady Michelle Obama

If y’all frequent this blog, you should’ve already known who I chose as my number 1 couple. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are THE MOST LOVELY COUPLE EVER! I love seeing the two of them together, especially during those times that they aren’t really aware that cameras are rolling. You can just see the love between the two of them. They met in 1989 when Michelle was working at a law firm in Chicago. She was assigned to advice a summer associate that would not only turn out to be her husband, but also the first black President of The United States. They wed in 1992 and now have two daughters, Malia and Sasha. I love me some Barack but y’all know that beside every great man there is an even greater woman, and Michelle is all of that and more.
