I heard a couple of people talking about the all white sorority Zeta Tau Alpha that shut the 2010 Sprite Step Off DOWN, and of course I had to check it out. Take a look.
Yes ma'am, they did the damn thing. They won first place, in a mostly black city AND competition, and they definitely deserved it. Check out this video of the crowd actually booing them when they won.
I'm trying to figure out WHY everybody was so damn mad that they won?! So because its a step show, a black sorority/fraternity is automatically supposed to win? Po Divine 9, LOL!! Maybe next year!!
UPDATE: One of my readers asked me to post a video of the 2nd place winners. The AKA's from Indiana University took home $50,000 for their 2nd place victory. Out of all the performances I saw, they were the next best thing to the Zeta's.
I didnt post all of the performances because I couldnt find good quality videos from all of the Divine 9 and I didnt want anybody feeling left out. If you would like to see a specific group let me know and I'll find it for ya ;-).

I am not mad at them for winning...I think it is well deserved...This is what I wrote on another blog about his matter...
Let’s be real…those girls did their thing and some people are mad because they got outstepped. SO that means we as black people need to step our game up! and stop whining! Black people ice skate, play hockey, tennis, golf. We are in NASCAR races! We have completely taken over basketball and football. They are saying the same about us! Now if they get mad at us for participating in their events, we call them racist. So what kind of example are we setting with these negative comments? If we stay on top of our game and quit getting complacent, we will not have to worry about whining over things as small as this. Or better yet, let’s focus of becoming stronger and wiser as a race and quit spending so much time tearing people down. Sometimes, that seems like all we do…smh
I was about to post on FB..hehehe. I agree with SoCo!! IF they did their thing give them credit; its due and I must admit they did the damn thing!!! Stepping is not just a "Black" thing its an all race thing. Some can some can't..even blacks. Come on people.. who is going to be the bigger person and stop this madness...
I just saw the AKAs and they were great as well, but the Zeta's still gave a lil more...I really didn't like the Deltas or the Alphas performance. I am not trying to put any of the Divine 9 on blast, so don't get mad at the observation. Some of you all are really taking this subject personally right now.
I have to agree with both of you the Zeta brought their A game period.
I'm late to the party...ZTA did really well and I enjoyed their routine...HOWEVER, the precision was so much more tight in the AKA's performance. Are we all looking at the same show??? Did ya'll not see them step on ONE LEG??? ZTA was a tad sloppy and out of step at times, but they still did a good job. I don't think stepping is a black thing...but I do think that ZTA may have gotten more points because nobody expected that from them. I think Sprite did the right thing by matching the prize for AKA.
