After getting to see Brandy in a Behind the Music episode, she's finally giving us what we REALLY want.  NEW MUSIC!! Check out the first single Put it Down which features Chris Brown.  If this is what she's bringing us with her new album Two Eleven, I'm digging it.

In case you missed Brandy's Behind the Music last night on Vh1, take a look at the full episode below.

Loved it!! She was very open and I was shocked to hear her use three curse words LOL. Glad to see she isn't still trying to rock that "perfect" role. Can't wait to hear her new music.

Mary J. Blige: Behind The Music

So if you didn't know, I LOVE MARY J. BLIGE!! Her "What's the 411"? album was the business and her albums are STILL banging. I can be having the WORST day ever, if Mary's "Just Fine" comes on, I immediately start smiling and singing. I missed her episode of "Behind The Music" but I've been looking for it since. Check it out below.

Check MORE DISH for parts 2 and 3

I just love Mary's realness and her style!!!  I am so glad that she found her happy.  Now she can write and sing about the good and the bad.

Missy Elliott "Behind The Music"

I've always liked Missy's style, she does her own thing regardless of what society and the media had to say. That was SUPER DUPER WHACK of them to leave her out of Raven Symone's video like that, SMH. Anywho, I'm glad she pulled through those health issues.

Fantasia "Behind The Music"

If you didn't catch Fantasia's "Behind the Music" last night, you missed out. Although I've always been a fan of hers and followed her career, I saw parts of her that I never saw before. During the hour long segment, I could see the difference in her demeanor on the most recently recorded portions and the previously recorded parts. It looked as if she'd recorded some parts prior to her suicide attempt and other parts after (when she wore the black shirt and her hair was as it is in the above pic). On the clips that were recorded after, she seemed rather detached from reality.  As if she was just there because she had to be.

Listening to Tasia talk about when she was raped, her relationship with Zion's father (that she looks JUST LIKE, BTW) and her relationship with her own father, Joe Barrino, just further confirmed what I’ve thought since I heard of her hospitalization. IT WAS ALL JUST TOO MUCH ON HER!!! I could have jumped the through the screen on Joe Jackson's Barrino's azz!  His reaction to his daughter's rape was utterly DISGUSTING!  When he found out of Fantasia's rape, he told her that it was HER fault because of how she was dressed. Even if he did feel that way about the situation, why would you actually say that to your child. WOW!!

Something that Fantasia said hit me hard, particularly because I was guilty of it too.  She mentioned that all of the negative press that she got was just too much to handle at the time.  The media is quick to talk about negative situations, but rarely go into details about positive things.  I wouldn't say that we here at Diva Dish are guilty of that, but I was upset with myself for not making a post on Fantasia's biggest achievement yet.  Her graduation!  She received her GED and although I mentioned it on Twitter and Facebook, I failed to make a post here.  I remember trying to find pics to post and couldn't and simply stopped looking.  Well, I'll take this time to congratulate her and say how very proud I am of her. She didn't have to do that and the fact that she did proves that she wants better for herself.

Alright, I'll try to find the "Behind the Music" episode for you guys, it was REALLY good!  Continue to keep her in your prayers cuz she still has a LONG way to go! Although she is up and out speaking about the situation, that doesn't mean that she's over it.  Keep in mind, she's been hiding her pain for years so she's good at it.  I'll be glad when people and the media realize that their actions and comments can be painful.  Celebrities are just like us, they make mistakes and they have feelings.  Luckily, we have the luxury of living through our situations (good and bad) privately.

Fantasia Speaks On Attempted Overdose

As I reported last week, Fantasia has been on a promotional tour for her new album that will be released this Tuesday.  She spoke first with the people over at VH1 for an episode of "Behind The Music" which will air tomorrow.  Check out what she had to say about her attempt to end her life.

"I didn’t have any fight in me. I didn’t care about anything. I just wanted out. At that moment, I wanted out. I wanted it to be over with – all of it, all of that [expletive]. I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You can’t accidentally take a whole bottle of pills.”

Hmm... I totally understand that feeling of just wanting out.  But personally, I just take a nap then wake up and try it again LOL.   Everyone wants to say that this came about because of a man, I think this situation was just the "straw that broke the camel's back."  Check out what she said about her relationship with Antwuan.

“When I met him, he was separated … wasn’t living in his home. He didn’t want to be back with his wife – that is what I was told,” Barrino says. “I remember waking up in the hospital [and thinking], ‘It didn’t work, I’m still here in this hellhole. Still here with all this drama going on."
My nurse Melanie was a blessing into my life because she didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear,” she says. “She told me what I needed to hear. And she looked at me and said, ‘You gotta get up, and you’ve gotta get out of here, ’cause you haven’t fulfilled your destiny.”                          "I realized how people end up in the grave. Because that one moment [snaps her fingers] of just breaking or feeling like I can’t, I can’t go on, it’s too heavy. That was somewhere I don’t ever want to go again.”
One thing about it, we don't know what the hell was going on with their situation.  Antwuan released a statement saying that he and his wife were done prior to him starting a relationship with Fantasia.  I just hope everything works out for her because she's been through so much, she needs a break from all the BS.

Behind The Music: Usher Raymond (part 1)

Awww, the part about Chilli was too cute! I wish that would have worked out, they made such a cute couple (minus the baby hair). Although I liked him with Chilli, I didn't disapprove of his relationship with Tameka. They never really had a chance, people were upset about their relationship from jump. I'll post the rest of the video when it becomes available. ;)

Side Note: Confessions was and still is a BOMB AZZ CD!!!
