KC: The desire to attain “celebrity status” has driven many young people to pursue the elusive dream of stardom. Is that what made you want to be an actress?
LL: I wish that was the case, because I’d be able to handle the attention a little better. No. I was an only child who spent a lot of time alone. Movies kept me company from a very young age, and starting from about seven years old, I wrote little plays and acted out all the parts by myself in my bedroom. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be an actor. It’s crazy though, because I’m such a private person. I was never interested in becoming famous. I still struggle with that aspect of my work.
KC: Doesn’t every celebrity say that after they become famous? “I love my craft, but I wish I could just have a normal life.”
LL: (laughs) I’m not complaining and I’m not that famous. I do get recognized, but I’m not being hounded by paparazzi every day. I’m human, so of course I like getting special treatment at times. But deep down that girl from the neighborhood is still in here. She might shy away from having her picture taken, and would rather blend in with the scenery sometimes and just observe.
KC: What is the biggest misperception people have of you? What misperception bothers you most?
LL: That my son is the result of some kind of one night stand or groupie encounter with his father. I struggle with deciding when to answer or ignore the constant speculation about my private life, because I feel like that doesn’t belong to anybody but me.
KC: Do you want to go on to the next question, or clear up the speculation now?
LL: I met Dwayne when I was 15 years old. I’ve known him a very long time, and we were in a relationship that didn’t make it. We tried more than once to revive it, and we were engaged briefly years ago, but we eventually parted ways. People see the “Lil’ Wayne” persona and think they know who he really is. My son’s father is an intelligent, loving and lovable person who will always be a dear friend. That is all.
KC: If you don’t mind another personal question, there is a lot of talk about how well the mothers of his children get along. What’s the real deal?
LL: We are all good-hearted women who love our children and we want them to know each other. Real friendships have grown from that foundation and the result has been more love, less drama and less trauma for our kids.

Yesterday when I left work, I headed to my parents house to watch the very last episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show. There were no celebrity guests, in fact there were no guests at all. Just my Aunt Oprah standing on the stage thanking US for supporting her for the past 25 years. As she thanked us, she (as usual) said some things that brought up dozens of thoughts in my head. She made me realize that I've heard some whispers that I shrugged off. Actually, at this time in my life I think I just might be feeling that brick she mentioned. Unfortunately, this brick didn't come with a note attached so I'm not exactly sure what it is that life is trying to tell me. Whatever it is, I plan to figure it out! Check out the last show below, thanks to Miss Jia for the upload.
So yeah.. I was crying like a nut!! I can't express how much admiration and love I have for this woman. She is truly amazing and she deserves all the blessings that have been bestowed upon her. To whom much is given, much is required. She has been given so much and given us more in return. This show will definitely be missed! If you're like me the transition won't be SO bad , I've already followed Lady O over to the OWN Network LOL. More Dish!
It's a tale as old as time.. Check out this documentary about the challenges of being a "Dark Girl".
Dark Girls: Preview from Bradinn French on Vimeo.
Hmph, you would think that in THIS day and time we wouldn't have this same old issue coming up. Although I'm tired of hearing about it, it can't be ignored because it is STILL relevant. I know we all handle things differently in this world but I can tell you this, although I have ALWAYS noticed that lighter girls/women seem to be approached quicker than the darker girls/women, I have NEVER had an issue with my beautiful brown skin. I come from a family that includes the darkest of the dark and the lightest of the light. There was no differences made amongst any of them. These issues start in the home. When that young lady said her mother stated "can you imagine if she had any lightness in her skin", that hurt me something terrible. If a parent doesn't teach a child that they are loved and to love themselves, who will? Society and anybody else can say what they want, but I'm a FIRM believer that "the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice", LOL. It's time to do better people, ESPECIALLY my black people!
Our children need to know that they are beautiful and worthy no matter what!! On Oprah's finale show yesterday (tear), she said something that ALL of our children need to hear and know, "you are worthy because you were born...because you are here." More Dish!
Beyonce visited American Idol for the second time this season to perform at the finale. Check her performance of her new song called 1+1.
THIS is why Beyonce' can NOT be touched. Simply standing in a beautiful gown without all the extra going on behind her, she is STILL a powerhouse. She blew the hell out of that song!! She just made me want to go out and find me a PLUS 1.
Check out the 1+1 album version. I absolutely LOVEEEEEEEE it! Sounds like something from Prince, like it could have been on the Purple Rain soundtrack.
Beyonce also joined this season's female finalists as they performed a medley of her songs. Check MORE DISH for that performance.
Cuteness (once Bey came out)!! And in case you're wondering, Scotty McCreery was this year's winner. Congrats Scotty! More Dish!

I like Kelly, she's a pretty girl and her body is to die for! She seems like a cool chick! Oh, and I just wanted to play a little bit of the game... My hip hop baby daddy would be Rick Ross! :)
Well, Kim finally got her man!! Her boyfriend of 6 months, NBA player Kris Humphries asked for her hand in marriage on in her Beverly Hills home on May 18th. Check out what Kim told People Magazine about the proposal.
Kris was waiting in her bedroom on bended knee with four words written in red rose petals: "WILL YOU MARRY ME?"
"I didn't expect this at all," Kardashian, 30, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview (out Friday) of the romantic, surprise proposal. "I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home, and I never thought now."
Humphries popped the question with a custom-designed, 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond sparkler. "I just knew I wanted it to be big," says Humphries, 26, who, with the help of Kardashian's mom Kris Jenner, planned an intimate family celebration later that evening.
"Kris really didn't want a big celebration, but he had jokingly told my mom he'd be fine if there were mini-horses there," says Kardashian with a laugh. "Later that night at the party, my mom brought out two mini-horses, covered in glitter, for us! It was hysterical!"
Congrats to Kimmie. It amazes me how quickly OTHER men can decide on marriage while

Mary took me back to "What's the 411" with that ponytail! She looked fabulous, per usual!!
Y'all KNOW I love me some Nicki but this performance, I wasn't really feeling it. The best part was when Britney came out. I'm glad to see her making a comeback.

More details are coming out about Arnold Schwarzenegger and his jumpoff baby's mother. Check out my Aunt (in my head) Wendy Williams giving the details below.
WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!! Dude was posed up taking slick family pictures and everything? I don't understand how Maria saw this baby and even made mention of how much he favored her husband, yet she never put the pieces together. This story get crazier and crazier by the day, SMH.

BET has announced their nominees for the 2011 BET Awards. The list has a couple of artists feeling like they were snubbed. Honestly, I can understand why people are wondering WTH was going on. Check the list below and tell me what you think.
Best Female R&B Artist
~Now y'all KNOW I LOVEEEE me some Beyone', BUT!! I don't understand how she was included in the category and her last record was released in 2008. Keyshia Cole took to Twitter and jokingly mentioned that in BET & MTV's eyes, she is NOT THE SH*T anymore, LOL. I totally feel her, she should have been in this category instead of my girl Bey.~

~Trina tweeted "F*ck BET" when she saw that she was not included as a nominee. I can feel her too. Sorry, but I don't understand why Lola Monroe and Cymphonique were chosen. Yesterday the city of Memphis (my hometown) was ecstatic about the arrival of the 44th (and COOLEST) President arriving into the city. President Barack Obama was here to speak to the 2011 graduating class of Booker T. Washington High School (BTW). For those of you that are not from Memphis and might be unfamiliar with the story of BTW, check this video below. It gives a back story of the school and it's also the video that won them the "Race to the Top" competition that brought the President to their school.
I cry every time I watch that video, these children have SUCH an amazing story. It's not hard to go from SOMETHING and succeed. But to come from NOTHING and succeed is amazing and nothing short of a blessing! For winning the "Race to the Top" competion, President Obama attended the commencement as their Key Note Speaker. While the students knew he would speak at their ceremony, they were not expecting him to pop in and speak with them prior to. Check that video below.
My President is constantly doing things to make me love him more and more on a daily!! Check out the full commencement under MORE DISH!!
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I love this man!! For him to listen to and remember the stories of these children just proves that he REALLY cares. Thanks again for coming to our city, Mr. President!! Your presence and inspiring words were greatly appreciated!! This video didn't show it, but he stayed and shook the hand of each and every graduate. That's something that they will remember for the rest of their lives!!

K.Michelle stopped through at 106 & Park to premiere the video for her new single "How Many Times."

“We all have special numbers in our lives, and 4 is that for me. It’s the day I was born. My mother’s birthday, and a lot of my friends’ birthdays, are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date.”Sounds like a plan to me... Bey released yet another teaser to the video for her first single from the album called "Run The World." Check MORE DISH to see it!
I've heard a few people say they hated the song. I can't say that I love it just yet, but I definitely don't hate it. I'm thinking this video will make me pick a side, either love or hate. I'm thinking it's gonna make me love it.... can't wait to see it in full!! More Dish!

"They say that the baby should kick 10 times every two hours," says the nervous mom-to-be. "I'm obsessed with counting how many times the baby's kicking. So around one o’clock in the morning I’m counting in my head, not sleeping!"
Too cute... I can see myself doing that, LOL! Congrats to Tia and her hubby! We'll get to see a little of her pregnancy this summer. Tia and her twin sister Tamera will be back on our TV screens in a new reality show on Style Network called Tia and Tamera Take 2! And yes, I will be watching!
