Former NFL Player Loses His Wife To Cancer, 1 Month After Wedding

This is the most beautiful, yet heartbreaking love story ever. This week,  former NFL player Chris Draft lost his lovely wife of 1 month to cancer. 35 year old Chris married his girlfriend Keasha Rutledge last month in Atlanta, GA. At the wedding, the beautiful bride used a wheelchair to get down the aisle but walked the last few steps to meet her handsome groom.  Check MORE DISH to view the couple's wedding trailer video.

This was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! I love that she was able to enjoy her special day regardless of what she was going through. She looked beautiful and most importantly, she looked HAPPY to become Chris' wife.  Mrs. Draft lost her battle with cancer and passed on Tuesday. Her husband and family are definitely in my prayers, may she rest in peace.

Karaoke Fan Gets A Surprise Duet Performance With Drake

Okay..this is some SUPER COOL SH*T!! I love karaoke and nothing like this has ever happened to me, LOL.  Dee, an international student from Kuwait was at a bar in West Hollywood and decided to perform Rihanna's "What's My Name" featuring Drake.  She asked the crowd if anybody there could perform Drakes part... and up pops Drake himself on the stage to perform with her!!!  He just so happened to be in the restaurant eating at the time. Check out the performance below.

Heavy D..Cause Of Death Revealed

Details in the death of rapper Heavy D. have finally been released.

Heavy D died from a pulmonary embolism caused by deep leg vein thrombosis ... and a long flight back to L.A. from a Michael Jackson memorial concert may have been a contributing factor.

A pulmonary embolism is a blockage of one or more arteries in the lungs -- most often caused by blood clots which travel in from other parts of he body. In Heavy's case, the clot was formed in his legs.

Days before Heavy died, he was on a flight back from Europe, after performing at the Michael Jackson tribute concert in Wales.

Officials from the L.A. County Coroner's Office say Heavy also suffered from heart disease, which could have been a contributing factor in his death.

The Coroner's Office has classified the death as "natural."

As TMZ first reported, Heavy died on November 9, 2011. He was 44-years-old.

Deep leg vein thrombosis is often associated with long plane flights, in which a clot can form due to prolonged immobility.

Late...But Still Relevant! Vanessa Bryant Files For Divorce

I can only imagine that this above picture shows Kobe's facially expression for the past few days.  After 10 years of marriage, Vanessa Bryant filed for divorce Friday afternoon, citing "irreconcilable differences."  According to some of the other "basketball wives", Kobe has still been up to his cheating ways and that's what caused her to finally leave.

And our sources say ... Kobe "desperately" wants to win Vanessa back and will do "whatever it takes" to save their 10 1/2 year marriage.

According to the legal docs, Vanessa is asking for joint custody of their 2 daughters -- 8-year-old Natalia and 5-year-old Gianna -- but Vanessa is asking that Kobe get visitation rights, which means she wants the kids in her care most of the time.

We've learned the couple has NO PRENUP, so 29-year-old Vanessa is entitled to half of the empire Kobe built over the last decade.

She's also requesting spousal support ... which is typical in divorce cases. Kobe, who filed his response to the divorce minutes after Vanessa filed her petition, says he will pay her spousal support.

According to the docs, Vanessa is being repped by disso-queen Laura Wasser and attorney Samantha Klein. Wasser reps oodles of celebs, including Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Maria Shriver and Kim Kardashian.

Wowwwwwwwww, no prenup? LMAO!! Sorry, I know divorce isn't funny, but seriously Kobe.  NO PRENUP?  I'm sure Vanessa is gonna party like no other bringing in 2012.  She's gonna have a prosperous year ahead.

All I can say is WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!! Today is my first time hearing of this case.  The Hip Hop Consultant  explained how Sophia Stewart finally won her lawsuit after six years.  Check MORE DISH to read more.

After a six year dispute, prolific writer and profound spiritualist, Sophia Stewart has received justice for copyright infringement and racketeering and will finally recover damages from the films, The Matrix I, II and III, as well as The Terminator and its sequels. Yes, you heard that correctly – the entire Matrix & Terminator franchises, and her suspected pay off is expected to be the highest in history – an estimated 2.5 billion.

Her case is a true landmark, and far too uncommon as countless creatives are exploited by the snake-like dealings of the movie industry. Here’s a recap of her triumphant journey by way of George2.0:

“Stewart filed her case in 1999, after viewing the Matrix, which she felt had been based on her manuscript, ‘The Third Eye,’ copyrighted in 1981. In the mid-eighties Stewart had submitted her manuscript to an ad placed by the Wachowski Brothers, requesting new sci-fi works.

According to court documentation, an FBI investigation discovered that more than thirty minutes had been edited from the original film, in an attempt to avoid penalties for copyright infringement. The investigation also stated that ‘credible witnesses employed at Warner Brothers came forward, claiming that the executives and lawyers had full knowledge that the work in question did not belong to the Wachowski Brothers.’ These witnesses claimed to have seen Stewart’s original work and that it had been ‘often used during preparation of the motion pictures.’ The defendants tried, on several occasions, to have Stewart’s case dismissed, without success.

Stewart has confronted skepticism on all sides, much of which comes from Matrix fans, who are strangely loyal to the Wachowski Brothers. One on-line forum, entitled Matrix Explained has an entire section devoted to Stewart. Some who have researched her history and writings are open to her story.”

So really?  They thought they were just going to steal this woman's story and get away with it? SMH!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad she didn't give up on this and got what's rightfully hers!!

*UPDATE*  I found this story on a few different websites.  Some of them stated that this is a hoax (and one of my readers also pointed it out, preciate that) .  I'll wait to see it on E! News before I totally believe it, LOL.

T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle (Episodes 1 & 2)

Last night was the premiere of Tip and Tiny's reality show on Vh1, The Family Hustle.  I absolutely LOVED the show and from most of the tweets and FB status updates I saw, most of the other viewers did also.  Of course you had those that spoke negatively of The King and his Queen, but like he said "you can hate if you want, but you're wasting ya time."  The relationship that these two have is simply beautiful.  Check out episode one below.

Whewwwwwwwwwwwwww honey, that Tip is a MANE!!! I just love the show and I love seeing them together.  Tip seems to be a great father and an awesome husband. Behind every great man is a great woman and Tiny is definitely that. She has been down with him through all of his ups and downs. Lot's of people (mostly women) were saying that Tip is too controlling.  Personally, I don't think he's controlling, I think he's a REAL MAN!! A man is supposed to lead and women are supposed to follow.  When I find a male that knows how to be a MAN and lead properly, I have NO PROBLEM FOLLOWING!! When they were on the Wendy Williams Show and he tapped Tiny and told her to "pause", I thought that was the sexiest thing ever LOL. I will most definitely be posted in front of my television EVERY Monday to watch their show.  Will you?

World AIDS DAY... Hydeia Broadbent Discusses Dating With HIV/AIDS

Today is World AIDS Day, a day to honor those living with HIV/AIDS and to celebrate the many medical breakthroughs discovered.  While it's a blessing that this illness is no longer a death sentence, it's extremely important that we know the ways to prevent it.  I know it's easy to say use condoms and IT'S VERY IMPORTANT TO DO SO.  But, I think the most important thing to do is to consistently be tested so that you know your status. Just a few weeks ago I was speaking with a grown man (in his 30s) that stated he had never been tested because he was "scared."  REALLY?  I won't lie, getting tested is one of  the scariest things ever.  I don't care who you are, how many condoms you've used or how many partners you've had.  If you're not a virgin, THAT SH*T IS SCARY (please also be aware that this is NOT a disease of promiscuity)!! So,  KNOW YOUR STATUS and WRAP IT UP!!

Anywho, last week a FB friend of mine asked her friends this queston "You're dating a person for 3 months, everything was going great... he/she finally tells you that he/she is HIV positive. What would you do?"  I was SHOCKED at some of the responses.  Some people actually said they would try to work through it, but of course, MOST people said they would run.  One person even said that a family member of hers was with a man for 15 years and 3 years into their relationship they found out he was HIV positive.  In 3 years she had not contracted the disease, and they even had a child together during that time. She stayed with him another 12 years after the fact and never contracted HIV (that REALLY confused me). Whatever your answer to this question would be, it wouldn't be an easy one. 

 Hydeia Broadbent is a 27 year old HIV positive activist that was born with the disease.  She spoke with Loop21 about dating with HIV, check MORE DISH to read that interview.

Loop 21: What do you think has improved in terms of people’s understanding of and attitudes towards HIV and AIDS?

Hydeia Broadbent: I believe the younger generation tends to be de-sensitized, because they don't really know how huge an issue HIV/AIDS was in the 80s.

My 19-year-old sister [who is positive] has no problem dating guys her age. They are so open and not afraid, not like the guys my age who remember growing up afraid of getting AIDS. While that’s good for my sister's generation, it’s kind of scary because there isn't a sense of fear. I think my generation let them down because we forgot to inform and show them the true reality of AIDS.

Loop 21: If you're HIV-positive, when do you disclose your status? On the date? Before a date? As soon as you meet? As soon as you're interested?

Broadbent: I have a three-date rule. By the third date is when it's time to let someone know—but a lot of people don't start dating until after they have already had sex. You need to let your partner know before you take it that far.

If the person rejects you, then look at the bright side—at least you find out sooner then later what type of person they really were.

Loop 21: Once you’ve told someone you’re involved with (or hope to be involved with) that you are HIV-positive, what are the best questions he or she can ask to help things move forward?

Broadbent: The best question: "What are the ways I can stay negative?"

It’s important that people understand a person's first reaction may be fear. Make sure you have all the answers to their questions and be willing to take that person with you to a doctor’s visit so they can ask other things themselves. I made such a point of taking my ex-boyfriend with me that my doctor would ask where he was if he didn't see him by my side.

Loop 21: In all of your activist work and speaking engagements, what is the main thing people want to ask you about dating someone with HIV?

Broadbent: "Can you have sex or have children?" The answer is yes, I can. I have engaged in a healthy monogamous relationship. Currently, I choose to abstain. Due to advancements in medicine, a person, male or female, can get married and have children without passing HIV onto their loved ones.

Loop 21: We often hear that condom use is down…

Broadbent: A study recently said that condom use is up! However, I don't feel enough [teens or twenty-somethings] are practicing safe sex because not enough adults are talking to the youth about sex and how to stay safe.

Loop 21: What's the best way to encourage people to practice safe sex?

Broadbent: Be real with them about what can happen if they don't. Simply by Googling pictures of STD outbreaks can be a wake-up. Or let people know there is no cure for AIDS and not everyone has access to the life-saving medications they may need. If you don't have health insurance, it could cost almost $4000 a month for medications and that doesn't include the cost for doctor’s visits, blood tests or other medications you may need.

At the end of the day, safe sex or no sex is better then a positive test result. Please remember people are still dying—maybe not at an alarming rate, but some do lose their fight against AIDS.

T.I. Says "Why You So Sensitvie?"

A couple of people have been a little heated after some comments T.I. made in an interview with Vibe about the LGBT community and their sensitivity issues.

Man, I will say this, the funniest joke I ever heard Tracy say during a stand-up was, 'C'mon man, I think gay people are too sensitive. If you can take a d**k, you can take a joke.' [Cracks up laughing.] That sh*t was funny to me. And it's kind of true.

They're like, 'If you have an opinion against us, we're gonna shut you down.' ... That's not American. If you're gay you should have the right to be gay in peace, and if you're against it you should have the right to be against it in peace.

I knew there were gonna be some upset people behind that, but honestly, I didn't really see much wrong with what he said. Tip called in to TMZ to explain what he meant by his comments.  Check the video below.



Tip just seems like such a smart man.  TRUE he's made some dumb decisions, but haven't we all?  Ours just don't make the news like his (thank GOD).  But what are people mad about?  He said he doesn't care what people do as long as they aren't hurting anyone else.  How is that downing the LGBT community? I don't get it.  And yea, people (not just blacks or gays) can be extra sensitive about things sometimes.

I am SOOOOOOOOOO hype about the newest reality show to hit our screens.  Vh1 is bringing Tip and Tiny, along with their youngins' to reality tv with "T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle." 

Viewers will also catch a glimpse into the very loving and always fascinating relationship between T.I. and his wife Tameka, who has faithfully stood by T.I.’s side through his highs and lows and who herself was a former member of the ’90s Grammy-winning pop group Xscape. The mother of two of T.I.’s children, along with her own fifteen-year-old daughter, Tameka was forced to hold down the fort while T.I. was behind bars. Viewers also are introduced to the OMG GIRLZ, a new up-and-coming pop group that Tameka manages. Tune in to see T.I. back on his throne, as he reclaims his kingdom, rebuilds his businesses, and reconnects with his family and friends on “T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle” premiering on VH1 December 5th at 9PM*.

R.I.P. Heavy D

Rap legend Heavy D (Dwight Arrington Myers)  passed on yesterday at the age of 44.  It came as a shock to everyone after seeing Heavy seemingly in great condition as he performed at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards less than a month ago.  A cause of death hasn't been given yet, but TMZ offered this information.

Law enforcement tell TMZ ... Heavy D had just returned from shopping and walked up some stairs when he began having trouble breathing. Adam Mills, a designer who was in the building and knew Heavy D, found him leaning against a railing and clearly in distress. Adam tells us he cradled Heavy D in his lap as others called 911. Adam says Heavy D was conscious and said to him, "I can't breathe, I can't breathe." When paramedics took Heavy D to the hospital he had a pulse. People in the building are saying he died of a heart attack, but we have not been able to confirm that. Law enforcement sources tell us ... no foul play was involved and so far they only know the cause of death was "medical."

Heavy D.  was a rapper that gave us music to dance to and wasn't afraid to bust a move himself.  In fact, he was just as known for his dancing as he was his music.  During his time with the group Heavy D and The Boyze  he gave us hits like "We Got Our Own Thang", "Is It Good to You" and "Nutting But Love."  And of course WE ALL loved to hear him say "Diddly, Diddly, Diddly, Dee."  Check out his performance on the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards and other hits below.

R.I.P. Smokin' Joe Frazier

Boxing legend Smokin' Joe Frazier has passed on at the age of 67.  The Thriller In Manila fighter had a short battle with liver cancer and  died last night.  Mr. Frazier was once one of Muhammad Ali's biggest rivals, but Ali only had great things to say about him after hearing of his passing. Ali stated "the world has lost a great champion. I will always remember Joe with respect and admiration," Ali said in a short statement. "My sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones."

Yesterday as I was roaming around on Twitter, I saw a link to a video called "Pinch Me" by Crystal Nicole.  I've never heard of this chick and honestly, the only reason I even went to watch the video was because the tweet said that the fine azz Q Parker (from 112) made a cameo.  Anywho, I'm glad I checked it out because I fell in love with the song and appreciated the fact that she included other female artists (Dondria, K.Michelle and Tiffany Evans) in the video as well.  Check it out below.

Of course I looked for some information on Crystal, just to see more of her work.  Turns out she's been in the business for a while, she even won a Grammy back in February for writing Rihanna's song "Only Girl (In The World).  She wrote one of my favorite songs off of Monica's latest album "Love All Over Me" and has worked with artists such as Beyonce', Jennifer Lopez and even my girl, Mary J.  Looks like she's finally decided to step from behind the scenes and from the looks of it, she's going to do a great job.  What did you think of the song and video?

Atlanta Housewives Perform Karaoke Version Of "No Scrubs" On Wendy

Okay, I thought this was just the funniest thing.  My girls and I went to Jamaica this past April for our 30th bday celebration.  On our cruise ship we performed "No Scrubs" one night at karaoke and it was SO much fun!! Phaedra was getting it! Reminded me of my cousin snatching the mic from my sister and going in, LMAO!!

Anywho, all the ladies look great. I can't wait to see the show.

Kim Kardashian Files For Divorce

Welp, we ALL saw this one coming!! Yesterday, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kris Humphris after 72 days of holy matrimony!! Of course social networking sites went IN discussing the reality star's second failed shot at  marriage.  But in actuality, it wasn't a failure, not considering what the "marriage" was REALLY for. It was for our entertainment and THE MONEY!! And the 17.9 MILLION dollars that she made off of the wedding is for damn sure a success!!

Well, I'm sure they'll work this into one of their shows for more entertainment purposes!! I'm not a huge fan of their shows, but I'll still be watching from time to time. LOL.

Usher Gets Snatched About A Parking Spot

TMZ always has the good ish, LOL. They posted this video of Usher being jacked up by a woman in Atlanta over a handicapped parking spot, LMAO. While attending a Halloween party in ATL, Usher swooped into a handicapped spot and this chick spazzed out. She even jacked him up in the process.
SO many things were hilarious about this video.  Between her jacking him up, hearing him say "do not put your hands on me" and seeing all the characters running about, I was TOO tickled LOL.

SIDE NOTE: I was talking to my friend the other week about the excess amount of handicapped parking spots at certain stores, AND the fact that they are almost always empty.  Yes, it is quite annoying but I never park in the spots. Usher won't be pulling that move again anytime soon, LOL.

Keri Hilson Grabbed By Crazed Fan

While performing in Paris, Keri Hilson was attacked by a fan on stage.  I'm not sure that I want to call it an attack (even though, that's pretty much what it was) because it didn't look like he was trying to harm her, he was probably just a SUPER FAN.  Anywho, you already know how this went down.  He got his azz handed to him by security, check it out below.

Rare Destiny's Child Interview From 2000

If you're a regular to the site, you know that I'm a HUGE Beyonce' fan.  I've been a fan since the Destiny's Child days and I love the group as well.  Anywho, I was looking around on YouTube at old DC interviews and came across one I'd never seen before.  It's from 2000 and it's hilarious to see Beyonce' before she was "Queen Bey."  Check her out as she eats during the interview and talks about stalking a certain male friend of hers.  Too funny!!

I'm digging the second single off of Monica's New Life album set to hit stores December 13th.  I was in LOVE with her Still Standing album, and I'm sure this one won't disappoint.  Check out the video for Until It's Gone below.





Y'all already know this had me crying, OMG!!! This was a beautiful video, it shows how a person can honestly care for you, but still won't do right by you (for whatever reason).  While you're mistreating people, you might not have the opportunity to show them just how much you actually care for them, it can all be over in a split second.  What did you think of the video?

And It's OVER.. Jennifer Hudson & Gloria Govan Are Now Single

It might be "boo season" but it looks like several celebrity couples are calling it quits.  Matt Barnes released a statement through his publicist that he and Gloria Govan are no longer an item:

I’d like to address the rumors surrounding mine and Gloria (Govan’s) relationship. We have reached the difficult decision of ending our relationship and will be going our separate ways at this time. We will work together to raise our sons and wish each other only the best.

It looks like she and her sister Laura take turns with the on-again-off-again engagements.  I'm thinking this one might be a little more permanent since Matt actually released a statement about it. I actually liked the two of them together.  On an episode of Basketball Wives: LA, Gloria stated that if she and Matt didn't make it, she could walk away with no regrets.  I hope that was for real and not just for the cameras.

Okay, I'm sure we all kind of saw this one coming.  According to Star Magazine, Jennifer Hudson has called off her 3 year engagement to wrestler/reality tv star/lawyer fiance David "Punk" Otunga.

After a three-year engagement, Jennifer Hudson has abandoned plans to walk down the aisle.

The American Idol alum, 30, and WWE star David Otunga – who have a 2-year-old son, David jr. – are on the outs, clashing over Jennifer’s career obsession, commitment issues and reluctance to have more children.

“They were going to tie the knot in August in Jennifer’s hometown of Chicago… but it’s not going to happen,” an insider reveals.

Jenny's publicist tells E!News that the couple is still on to be wed stating "I can confirm that the story is not true."  While the story is that Jenny will still walk down the aisle, they still aren't giving a date.

Rick Ross Suffers A Seizure Headed Into Memphis

Rick Ross was on a flight from Ft. Lauderdale today headed into Memphis when they had to make an emergency landing for medical reasons.  A caller reported that Ross suffered a seizure and had to be resuscitated after falling unconscious.  A doctor on board performed CPR during the flight.

According to TMZ, a little after 10 am, rapper Wale tweeted that had spoken with Ross and that he was okay.  There aren't many more details about the situation, but make sure you keep him in your prayers.

UPDATE: Ross is OKAY!!! He just posted on his Twitter account (@RickyRozay).  If he's tweeting, I'm guessing he's do alright.  Still keep him in your prayers, he may be tweeting, but we all know that they're not landing planes for something MINOR.
