Junior Seau Dies At 43

NFL legend Junior Seau was found dead yesterday in his home at the age of 43.  When police responded to a 911 call and entered his Oceanside, CA home they found Seau's body with a gunshot wound to the chest.  Police suspect suicide and this possibly isn't the first time he's attempted to take his own life. In 2010 Seau denied claims that he tried to commit suicide when his car left a cliff after being arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend. Seau explained the accident saying he fell asleep at the wheel of the car.

The fact that he shot himself in the chest raises suspicion amongst the NFL world.  Previously an ex NFL player shot himself in the chest and left a note saying he wanted to preserve his brain for study.  Both were involved in an ongoing lawsuit with the NFL claiming they did not properly warn them of future medical problems related to concussions.

He leaves an ex-wife and 4 children, all of which he sent text messages to the day before he passed and simply said "I love you."  They all responded but nobody thought anything strange.  Whatever the case, this is a sad situation.

Whitney Houston Home Going Obituary... Full Program

On Saturday, February 11th the family of the legendary Whitney E. Houston held a private Home Going Celebration for their beloved "Nippy."  While it was not open to the public, the family did however allow one camera in the building.  That one camera was more than enough to show the world what a real celebration of life looks like. Ms. Cissy Houston put her baby to rest BEAUTIFULLY!! I was so glad that she took Whitney home and held the services in her original church.  I think Whitney would have wanted it done just as it was.

The service was beautiful and so was the program.  Check MORE DISH for the full program.

Aretha Franklin Speaks On Whitney Houston's Passing

Whitney's "Aunt Ree", Aretha Franklin spoke to TODAY about Whitney's death.  Take a look at the interview below.

Since Whitney's death, I've watched several of her interviews and performances.  It really hurt me to look at some of the recent videos, and it's no secret that "the voice" wasn't what it used to be.  While speaking to TODAY, Aretha stated that she knew it hurt Whitney that she couldn't sing what (how) she wanted to and was used to.  I know it had to have hurt her, because like I said... it hurt my feelings just watching it.  There have been people making horrible comments about this legendary woman and it honestly ticks me off. One of the last songs she was heard singing was "Yes Jesus Loves Me", and it was obvious that she loved him too.  So, who are we to judge?  I've seen several posts about all the greats being in heaven ready to greet Whitney at the gate.  If that's the case,  I know they are all up there JAMMING.. and Whitney not only has "the voice" back, but she's hitting notes she didn't even know she could.

Whitney Houston Death Details, Plus My Mini Tribute.. Rest In Love!!

When my sister called me Saturday night to tell me that Whitney Houston was no longer with us, I immediately wanted to believe it was just a rumor.  However, the hurt in my sister's voice let me know it most definitely wasn't.   On February  11th, the world lost the legendary Whitney Houston, she was only 48 years old.

According to TMZ Whitney was found submerged in water in her L.A. hotel room.  Initially, sources were saying that Whitney might have taken prescription drugs, fell asleep in the tub and drowned.  Since those reports, the autopsy has been completed and family members stated that she died prior to going underwater.  According to the autopsy, there was not enough water in her lungs to suggest drowning. Whitney possibly died from a combination of prescription pills and alcohol.

Regardless of how Whitney left, the world is definitely mourning her loss.  While we're hurting, nobody is hurting more than her 18 year old daughter Bobbi Kristina.  Since her mother's death, she's been rushed to the hospital twice. The night of Whitney's death, Bobbi Kristina got into a verbal altercation with police when they would not allow her entry into her mother's room.  Please keep this family, especially Bobbi Kristina in your prayers.  She and her mother were SUPER close, you could see Whitney's love for Bobbi Kristina every time she spoke of her.   The above pic was one of the last photos the two took together.

I have ALWAYS loved me some Whitney Houston. You couldn't tell me I wasn't Whitney back in the day. She was beautiful and her voice always amazed me. Yesterday, an elementary school friend of mine posted a status on Facebook asking if anybody remembered when the twins (my sister and I) used to sing Whitney Houston songs on the playground and everybody used to crowd around. That brought back memories cuz like I said, I LOVED Whitney.  Anytime somebody asked me to sing, I would break out in a Whitney song. Now that I'm older, I know better than to fool around with anything Whitney ever touched LOL.

I just wanted to take a minute and post some of my favorite Whitney songs and performances. Check MORE DISH to hear her angelic voice.

LOVEDDDDDDDDDDDD IT!!! And it was effortless.

When they showed this clip of her live Grammy performance from 1994 last night at the beginning of this years Grammys, I didn't think I would make it through the rest of the show. It broke me all the way down. This woman's voice, was beyond amazing!!  And when she got to bouncing, I knew she would have me rocking. People can say what they want about this woman, but THIS is how I will always remember Ms. Whitney!! Rest In Love, we will ALWAYS LOVE YOU!!

Don Cornelius Committed Suicide? May He Rest In Peace

Don Cornelius, the creator of Soul Train was found dead in his home this morning.  And it appears to be a suicide.

We're told cops discovered the body at around 4 AM PT. Law enforcement sources tell us ... Cornelius died from a gunshot wound to the head and officials believe the wound was self-inflicted.

We're told Cornelius was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

This is horrible, Mr. Cornelius was 75 years old.  You never know what a person is dealing with behind closed doors. His family and friends are in my prayers.  May he rest in "Love, Peace and Soul."
