Mickey "Memphitz" Wright Arrested

Mickey "Memphitz" Wright was arrested yesterday at an Atlanta airport.  According to TMZ, Wright had a loaded handgun (which he DOES have a license to carry) in his backpack as he put it through the scanners.  Wright told authorities that he forgot the gun was in the backpack.  Now, me knowing Mickey, that's exactly what happened.  He moves at a million miles a minute and we all know "sh*t happens."  Yes, he should have been more careful, but we all make mistakes.

He's still being held in custody at this time. I would appreciate it if they would "let my people go", LITERALLY!!

Toya: A Family Affair Finale... Memphitz & Toya's Wedding (Video)

Last night my family got together to watch the wedding ceremony of Mickey "Memphitz" Wright and Antonia "Toya" Carter (now Mrs. Wright) for the second time (you can read my blog on the wedding here).  We had such a great time watching Mick finally say "I do" to his "Mrs. Wright."  If you missed it, check it out below.





Awwwwwwww, that was beautiful.  This was my favorite episode of the season.  Toya looked beautiful (her skin is AMAZING) and Mickey is oh so handsome.  They make a wonderful couple and we're waiting on them to add a member to our family soon.  No, I'm not saying she's expecting, just saying we're waiting LOL.

BET should have given them an hour for the finale.  There was so much more from that night that could have been shown.  One part I was GLAD they didn't show was me catching that bouquet.  I would have been TOO shame, LOL.  I watch the show every week, but last night offered an extra incentive.  I got a chance to see myself and a lot of my family on the tizubbbbbe LOL.  Again, congrats to the newlyweds and many blessings!

Congrats To The Newly Weds, Mickey "Memphitz" Wright & Antonia "Toya" Carter

This weekend my family traveled to Atlanta to celebrate as my cuzzin, Mickey "Memphitz" Wright married his fiance', Ms. Toya Carter! I was extremely excited because I LOVE anytime my family can get together and it's even greater when it's in celebration of love. Black love is SO BEAUTIFUL :)!

Anywho, in addition to Mickey's family and friends were of course Toya's family and friends.  I loved hearing their New Orleans accents as we all mingled in the lobby waiting for the ceremony to begin.  The rainy weather in ATL almost forced the couple to change their beautiful outside ceremony to an inside ceremony.  However, the rain let up just in time for the bride (that looked STUNNING) to walk down the aisle, outside as planned.

As Toya walked down the aisle, tears came from her eyes.  I looked back at my cousin to see tears falling from his as well.  The bridal party (which included Tiny, Toya's little sister Beatie, Mickey's sister Candice and Toya's friend Danielle) looked beautiful in their gowns as they walked down to Kelly Price BLOWING "He Proposed To Me."  Toya's father walked her down the aisle and her mother told her how beautiful she looked once she made it all the way down.  I know people mainly focus on the bride, but I have to point out that my big cuzzin looked mighty freaking dapper as he awaited his bride :)! 


The reception was great!  I loved their first dance, it wasn't just one song, but a mixture of a few different ones.  The only one I can remember was "Hey Mickey" by Toni Basil.  It was PURE CUTENESS as the two dance to "hey Mickey you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind, hey Mickey", LOL.   As we were on the dance floor doing the "Wobble" we looked up to see the bride jump in the middle of us after changing from her gorgeous wedding gown to her gorgeous sparkling reception gown.  Both of their daughters spoke and mentioned how much they loved their new step parents. Later in the evening, Lloyd came in and performed "Cupid" for the couple.  BTW, that lil Reginae is SOMETHING ELSE.  We messed up and asked her to "teach me how to dougie", whewwwwwwww, honey! She went IN, made me feel old as hell, LMAO!!

Atlanta's Hollywood circuit was definitely in the building celebrating with their girl.  Kandi tweeted the above pic of herself with the bride, Monica, Rasheeda, Nivea and Lauren London.

I've gotten a few question about how this person or that person was when I met them.  I can totally understand those questions cuz I like to know how "celebrities" are in "real life" also LOL.  I can honestly say that everybody was really nice.  The "nicest celebrity ever" award goes to Mrs. Monica Brown (who is even more beautiful in person). When she and Shannon walked by I asked them to stop cuz I wanted to tell them something. She kinda looked like "what she finna say" LOL, but stopped and listened.  I told them "look, I love y'all together", Shannon just started laughing. I guess it's something he keeps hearing LOL.  I reminded her of the blog post I wrote about them that she read and responded to on Twitter. In that blog post I mentioned that I was waiting on them to add a little girl to their bunch.  She said that everyone was making that request and that they were definitely "practicing." I told her to leave the reception early so they could make it happen LOL.

While Monica was the only person that I actually had a conversation with, I did have a little interaction with Tiny and Tamar.  Tamar is exactly what you see on "Braxton Family Values" but she's not as extra as you would think.  She's VERY polite and even offered my lil cousin a compliment on her shoes.  I over heard her saying "thank you, please, and excuse me" as she spoke to other guests. She was standing next to me on the dance floor as we did the "Wobble" and she is def a character.  It's like she's ready to perform at any chance she gets LOL.  She was swinging that hair and really WOBBLING, LOL.  She was seated next to my Mommy at the reception and my mom mentioned how nice she was.

Tiny and Kandi both seemed very nice as well.  Tiny smiled a lot and my mother mentioned that she noticed a humbleness about her and I agree.  I've seen people on blogs mention that they think Tiny and Toya had issues but I don't think so.  They seem to have a really genuine friendship. 


Well..that's about all I have to say.  I wish Mickey and Toya nothing but the BEST in their marriage! Oh BTW, maybe I'll be next. I CAUGHT THE BOUQUET, tehehe!!

Toya Carter's New Orleans Bridal Shower

Today is #ToyaTuesday (that's for you Twitter folks, LOL) so I thought I'd post pictures of the future Mrs. Wright at her Bridal Shower this past weekend. As usual, her hair and makeup were on point.  Check out a few pics from the celebration.

Toya Carter Explains Her Gay Tweet!

Last week Toya Carter had the Twitter world in a complete UPROAR!! I'm sure she didn't realize it would create such a commotion when she tweeted "it breaks my heart to see kids under 18 gay #idontlikeit." You should have seen some of the comments that they sent her just for voicing her opinion. In all honesty, after reading some of the things that people sent her, I almost totally forgot about what started it all. Check out what she had to say about the comment.



I still don't understand why people blew it up as much as they did. Even after she apologized they still went in, SMH. I'm glad the people over at "The Ladies Room" allowed her to explain herself better.  She has to be more careful of her words in the future cuz people will take ish to a WHOLE new level (they even made comments about her child). Anywho, what did you all think about her show the other night? I loved it, I almost cried when she said she would point out random strangers and say it was her mom. Toya has come a long way, especially considering where she came from. She has a store, book and her show "Toya: A Family Affair" got 1.5 million viewers on the night of the premiere. Gotta love it!!

Straight From The A Interviews Toya Carter... Confirms Engagement!

Ms. Toya Carter has been making her rounds to promote her new show "Toya: A Family Affair", her new book "Priceless Inspirations" and everything else she has in the works.  This morning I heard her on the Steve Harvey Morning Show.  When I got online I found an interview that she did with Straight From The A.  The ladies looked like they were having mad fun during the interview as Toya confirmed some things that the public has been wondering about.  Check out the interview below!

That was super cute!! So now it's out, yes Toya and Memphitz are indeed engaged! On Steve Harvey's Show she referred to Mickey as her fiance and said that she "really, really loved him."  I'm really happy for the both of them.  Besides love, Toya has found several other things to occupy her time.  I'll be checking out the book, most def checking out the show and I'm waiting for Garb Boutique to get an online store so I can check that out as well (she said it's coming soon).  I've seen some of the pieces from the store and they're pretty hot. Much respect to Ms. Antonia, she is definitely making moves and you can't do anything but respect that.

Toya Carter's "Priceless Inspirations" In Stores Next Month

During my interview with Toya Carter last year, she mentioned that one of her next ventures was a book.  The book would be "memoirs to her younger self" and she wanted to share it with the world.  Well, she recently celebrated the completion of her new book "Priceless Inspirations" which you can find on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Borders next month (you can preorder online).  I love the title, her name "Antonia" means "Priceless" in Italian. Super cute!!  Toya is now a reality TV star, boutique owner and an author.  People can say what they want about Ms. Carter, but they can't deny the fact that she's making big moves.  Gotta love it!!  I'll be coping the book.  What about you?

Okay, I likes this song. Not shocking tho cuz y'all know I'm a Rasheeda fan. I really like Toya's part, the pics in the video were just too adorable. Wedding Bells For Memphitz & Toya Carter?

So.... the new buzz of all the blogs this week (except this one) has been that Toya Carter and Memphitz recently got engaged. I've even had people calling and tweeting me for confirmation, but I haven't responded due to personal reasons. While I'm not here to confirm or deny anything........ I will say that whatever they have planned,  "I DO" wish them both the very best. ;)

Toya Carter Shoots With Matt Phoenix Plus Hear More About Her New Show

As you probably know, Ms. Toya Carter landed a spin off show from her hit reality show Tiny and Toya.  Toya's new show called Toya's Family Affair will air on BET and allow her fans (and haters, we know you're watching too LOL ) to go a little deeper into her family life.  If you follow her on Twitter you know that she's been in her hometown, New Orleans filming for the show.  While there, she took some impromptu photos with photographer, Matt Phoenix.  Check them out!

K.Michelle..Abused Woman or Woman Scorned?

Sooooo, sometimes this whole blogging thing can be a little confusing. Lots of times when you see things being said and you actually know the REAL deal with the situation, you have to figure out rather to speak on it or just stay the hell out of it. But, since I'm a blogger I have to keep my readers informed as much as possible. For some time now K.Michelle (Hitz Committe Artist) has been going in on the CEO of her company via Twitter, Facebook and any other outlet she could find. Today there was a post about K and Memphitz on a well known BS site that will post any story they get, f**k some proof.. all they need is an email! The post was of K basically making claims that Memphitz beat her. If you've been following my blog then you know that Memphitz is my first cousin, therefore, I know whats really what with this situation. If you follow K.Michelle on Twitter then I'm sure you've seen how she has literally been lighting Memphitz' azz up from time to time. I will admit, sometimes that stuff is HILARIOUS (K is a very funny chick)... However, some things that you say about people go from funny to degrading. The claims that Memphitz beat her are not only false, but also ridiculous. Anybody that pays close attention to things will notice that these claims didn't surface until AFTER I broke the story of Memphitz and his new boo/sexiface Toya Carter.

Around the time that I broke that story I was working with K.Michelle to do an interview with her while she was touring with R.Kelly. It was funny because as I was on the phone with her talking about the interview, I was thinking "she couldn't have seen the story yet" LOL. As we set up the details of the interview, she was the same ole sweet Kim that I've known since we were around 13. After we hung up I remember thinking, I hope she doesn't start any ish when she sees that story. Literally like 10 minutes later she called back and was a TOTALLY different person! She was SCREAMING TO THE TOP of her lungs (you know she has range LOL). Yelling things like "tell your cousin his career is over, f**k him and that b***h, those BET show having mofos can have each other". Sooooo, at this point I realized she'd obviously seen my post LOL.

With that said, lets talk about this incident where she was supposedly beaten. I remember this day vividly because my family was giving Mick (Memphitz) a get together at my sister's house because he hadn't been home in a minute. Needless to say Mick was late (per usual), but he was extremely late this time. When he finally gets there he's looking at me shaking his head and whispering "this mofo is crazy". As I'm trying to figure out what he's talking about, in walks K.Michelle behind him, GRINNING like always. While we all kicked it and laughed and just had family time, she was in the mix doing the same. Mick and I finally had the chance to break away and he mentioned that they'd had an incident at the hotel. They had an argument and she was screaming all loud inside the hotel and he covered her mouth to keep her quiet. Nothing more, nothing less!! When she was at our family dinner she didn't look beaten or wounded to me. K is a rather light complected chick, if she'd been beaten we most definitely would have seen it.

As I stated, I've known K for years, way before she met Memphitz and got her record deal. I've heard how crazy she is but this is a bit much. The day she called me going ballistic I tried to talk to her. I explained to K that trying to RUIN someones career is stupid, especially when you're in the process of trying to BUILD yours. What you put out into the universe usually comes back to you. Plus, nobody else was there and she didn't start with these claims until AFTER he went public with Toya... so at this point she just looks like a woman scorned. Wouldn't you agree? Don't get this post twisted, it isn't meant to take anything away from K as an artist. Her music is STILL bad and I will continue to rep her ish cuz its just that banging. However when you drag someones name through the dirt simply because he didn't want you, you're doing the most. I wish K MUCH success in her career and I seriously hope she gets some help because to do something this ridiculous and to this extreme is kinda.... hell crazy, there is no other word for it LOL. Anywho, y'all make sure to check out her cd "Pain Medicine" when it drops. Hitz Committe Partnaaaaa! ;)

The Real Deal With Toya Carter

For a long time Toya Carter was simply known to the world as “Lil Wayne’s ex-wife.” Last year, with the debut of her reality show “Tiny & Toya”, we got to know a little bit more about her. Not as Wayne’s ex-wife, but as Toya… a mother, a daughter, sister, friend and socialite.

The very first post on Diva Dish was the premiere episode of “Tiny & Toya” so its needless to say that I’m a fan. Even after watching the first season of the show and following Ms. Carter on Twitter, my interview was the first time I’ve ever heard her speak on certain issues. We talked about her relationship with Wayne, the baby mama NO drama, The OMG Girlz and more. Check MORE DISH for the interview!






As cool as you saw Toya in this interview, she’s just as cool in person. She seems to have a great personality and a really good head on her shoulders. Before ‘Tiny and Toya” aired, many people wanted to know what the purpose of the show was. One thing they can not say its about is a bunch of negativity and BS. I love how she is woman enough to allow her daughter to have a relationship with all of her little brothers. As Toya stated, “SOME” of them are over Wayne (yea, we caught that LOL) so there is no reason to beef. It’s wonderful to see a young black woman making an honest living in the industry without giving the media what they want, DRAMA! Toya shows young girls that it is more than possible to come from rough beginnings to fabulous ends. Good luck Ms. Carter with everything and thanks again for your time. Oh yea BTW… even though I’m not making y’all a couple, you and Memphitz do make a pretty hot combo LOL.
