Black Girls Rock Performances

Last night BET aired their BEST SHOW EVER!! "Black Girls Rock" was an absolutely AMAZING SHOW! Everything about it was fabulous, from beginning to end. They opened the show with a golden performance from Jill Scott.

Jill Scott "Golden".... She looked gorgeous!!! Jill was rocking those army fatigue pants, LOVED HER LOOK!!

Keri Hilson "Breaking Point." People can hate on Keri if they want to but I love her. She's a fab writer and performer.

Monica "Still Standing"... Nothing shocking about this performance, she ALWAYS KILLS IT!! She was sharp as all hell wit her lil narrow tail, LOL.

Check MORE DISH for more performances

V.V. Brown "Shark In The Water." Loved this song and the performance. Hated the hair, LOL.

Shontelle "Impossible', I've always LOVED this song!! She did very well!

Keyshia Cole "I Remember." I really wish she would have had a new single out that she could have performed. Glad to see her back at it tho!

The ABSOLUTE BEST PERFORMANCE of the night was Nina Simone's "Four Women" rendition by Kelly Price, Masha Ambrosius, Jill Scott and Ledisi. It's crazy how these 4 women DEMOLISHED that damn stage. The notes and runs these chicks hit in this performance makes your nose go up like something stinks, LOL. It literally sent chills through my body.

The last performance of the night was Fantasia channeling The Wizard of Oz and sang "Brand New Day", then Ledisi, Kelly Price and Marsha Ambrosius joined her in singing "I'm Every Woman."

I LOVED THIS SHOW and what it represents. We have so many strong black women in our community and our young women need to see this. They celebrated Ruby Dee, Missy Elliot, Raven Symone, KeKe Palmer and others. They didn't only show celebrities that ROCK, they showed other black females (including young girls) that are making a difference in their communities. Please visit the Black Girls Rock website to learn more about this organization.

BET really outdone themselves this time, no other award show will top this for awhile! Usually every show is ghetto (pardon me but it is, to some extent) but this time, it was very organized/professional and did us some true justice! Props to Beverly Bond for being phenominal and putting a movement behind these inspirational, hard working BLACK WOMEN by founder of Black Girls Rock!
